Country Dick Montana died in his boots, onstage at the Longhorn Cabaret in Whisler, British Columbia of an aortic aneurysm on November 8, 1995. Just two months before his death he completed his first solo album, “The Devil Lied To Me”. Two years in the making, it is an accomplished work from a guy who was usually known as an out of control beer-swigging party-showman. Beat Farmers albums only featured a few lead vocals from the man, so this is the first album of 100% pure Dick. With a voice deeper than Johnny Cash, you practically feel his presence in the room.
