Take the Whole Midrange and Boost It

Bar/None is truly stoked for the release of Oppenheimer's second album, Take the Whole Midrange and Boost It. Alarm Press says that Oppenheimer "continues their disarming fascination with synthesizer fuzz and boisterous, bright pop. The album combines the admitted influences of Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, and My Bloody Valentine with the spirited harmonies and concise compositions of Brian Wilson." Twelve new songs including a guest appearance from Matt Caughtran from thrash punk god-heads, The Bronx.

Phillips and Driver 2007-09-29

Joe's Pub in the Park

David Driver sings the songs of Scott Walker, easily the most respected and least known artist of his generation. Walker, the enigmatic and influential subject of the soon-to-be-released documentary film 30 Century Man, is ripe for re-discovery and downtown chanteur David Driver (seen alongside Deborah Harry and Elvis Costello in Roy Nathanson's Fire at Keaton's Bar and Grill and as a regular vocalist with the Losers' Lounge) is the singer for the job. Walker's gritty glam lyrics, passionate crooning and Dada arrangements are late-twentieth-century music's road not taken; the streetwise luster and gravity of Driver's voice make him uniquely qualified to resurrect these urban songs. The songbook includes the classics "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore," "Montague Terrace (In Blue)," "It's Raining Today," and the inimitable "Thanks for Chicago, Mr. James."
